Dr. Jaramillo gave a talk on the lab’s work titled “PACAP neurons in the PBN modulate anxiety following repeated stress during alcohol abstinence implications for disrupted BNST activity” during the “Extended Amygdala Circuitry of Alcohol Exposure and Affective Behaviors” session at the Research Society on Alcohol 2025 meeting.

The Jaramillo, Venditto, and Saatman Labs received an award from the KY Spinal Cord and Head Injury Research Trust to investigate “PACAP mRNA delivery to treat traumatic brain injury”!

Mikala wins 2nd place in the graduate poster competition at UK Substance Use Research Event. She showcased her research on the role PACAP neurons have on anxiety during abstinence. AND is selected as this years UK Office of Technology Commercialization Fellow!
